USC Trojans Defeat UCLA Bruins, Will Play For The Roses You can purchase USC Trojans vs UCLA Bruins tickets for both home and away USC Trojans/Bruins games. LOS ANGELES—The USC Trojans are heading to the Rose Bowl for the third year in a row after beating their rival, UCLA, 24-7 on December 1. Thanks to John David Booty’s 206 passing yards and the team’s combined 231 rushing yards, the Trojans will face the Fighting Illini of Illinois on New Year’s Day. USC, who proved to be immortal after losing to Stanford and Oregon earlier in the season, pulled of a late season comeback, winning the last four games on their schedule. The Trojans, who ended their season at 10-2 overall and 7-2 and in the PAC 10, earned their sixth consecutive conference championship after defeating UCLA. This victory may have been the Trojans’ last in the Coliseum, as disagreements and frustrations over a long-term deal have surfaced, prompting team officials to search for a new home. ESPN reports that the team has spoken with Rose Bowl officials about playing their next year. At the Coliseum, the Trojans have defeated UCLA in five straight games, outscoring them 181-155. UCLA coach Karl Dorrell may be searching for a new job after a less than disappointing season. The Bruins returned 20 starters from last year’s team and with them high expectations for the ’07 season came. The Bruins ended their season at 6-6 overall, 5-4 in the PAC 10, leaving the school’s athletic director evaluating Dorrell’s coaching tactics. The Rose Bowl, sure to be a good one, will take place on January 1, 2008 at 2:10 pm PST and can be seen on ABC and heard on ESPN Radio.
