Deputies investigating whether USC players were involved in weekend shooting
COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - WIS has received word about Gamecock players involved in a shooting investigation.
Richland County investigators are looking into a shooting incident at a private club over the weekend, where Cory Boyd and several other USC football players were at the scene.
According to the incident report deputies responded to the club on Columbia Mall Boulevard after several shots were fired Saturday night. No one was hit and there were no injuries.
Witnesses say Cory Boyd and several USC players were at the club. Witnesses also told deputies some of the players may have been involved in the shooting. They also said gang members were involved.
No charges have been filed yet in this case. Deputies stress they are still looking into what involvement, if any, the players had in the shooting.
