Dwayne Jarrett (6-4, 214) ran his 40s in 4.67 and 4.62 seconds, the short shuttle in 4.20 and the three-cone drill in 7.28. He also had a 36½-inch vertical jump and a 10-foot-1 broad jump.

It should be noted that the 40's were run this year on the Field Turf at Loker Track Stadium rather than on the track itself, a surface which is known for producing fast times.

All three receivers, particularly Dwayne Jarrett and Smith, looked solid in the receiving drills and most observers felt Smith helped himself the most today, especially when you take into account his sub 4.4 40 at the recent NFL combine. Dwayne Jarrett didn't run the 40 time he was hoping for, a 4.55 or lower would have solidified him in the upper part of the first round, but it's doubtful that he will drop beyond the middle of the first round (Norm Chow and the Titans hold the #19 pick). The quarterback for the throwing drills was Rocky Butler of the CFL Hamilton Tiger Cats.

After starring at both the Senior Bowl and the Combine, Ryan Kalil just needed to come here and perform well in the football drills to basically ensure his status as a first round pick and he did that. As one scout said "you're looking at a 14 year NFL vet right there, just plug him in and don't worry about the position for the next decade or so."

Dallas Sartz definitely opened up some eyes with a 4.58, a much improved time over the 4.7 he ran at the combine.

McCullough and Pollard took part in the event with the hopes of getting a look from one of the many NFL scouts in attendance. McCullough had bounced around the league with several teams and his 40 time, while not fast by his standards or by NFL running back standards, shows that he can still move considering he didn't play last year. Pollard now weighs 230 pounds, as opposed to 205 during his last year at USC, and his knees are as healthy as they have been in a long time.
